  As a newly fading dub I guess I only thought I knew my bible. The points you all bring up (right or wrong) would that taken me a month of Sundays to research. But it's sure a lot of food for thought.

  i just realized something.... no matter how many time that i watch the weather channel, they never seem to get it right.

  i saw the forecast change 3 times in one day... yet i still keep tuning in.

  my wife ( who was never a witness ) said "just keep watching, maybe the light will get brighter!

  Would You/Do You Remain As A JW "Technically"???

  technically, since i am not df'd or dissasociated, i am considered by witnesses as an inactive jw.

  i do not actively look to get df'd as i have family that are witnesses.

  if i were ever df'd, then i'd deal.

  I am still a dub, not even inactive, just irregular. I can see a time when i am DF or DA'ed if I can get the rest of my family out.

  The dubs that brought you into the WTS

  how do you perceive the jws that had brought you into the wts, do you like them, resent them, are they still dubs or did they get out before you?

  it would be nice if there are instances where those that brought people in later helped them leave.

  i don't particularly like the dubs that got me in because i later realised they were doing everything to impress their superiors and get promoted, something they achieved as they got good bethel positions abroad.

  As a nineteen year old I moved in with a friend of mine's family for the summer, I knew that they were JW's but we had been best friends since I was nine. My first night staying with them his mother told me that her children went to 3 meetings a week and that I could go or stay home we their father who was not a dub. I went, and that's how I learned the truth, no books, no study, just the meetings. That was 26 years ago, in the time since we have continued to be best friends even though we live in different parts of the country. He became inactive years ago but because his and his wifes family are all dubs. I on the other hand became very active, became and elder, and raised my family according to the party line. Now I have come to see the real "truth" about the society. my friend is comming up over the Chrismas Holidays, (not to celibrate them just that is when he got time off) I am hoping to talk to him then and let him know how I feel. He is one dub I feel comfortable talking to about anything. I don't know how DAing myself would dampen our relationship but that is a major concern to me and is one reason i have not.

  My oldest son found me this morning!!!

  i've looked for him for 16 yrs.

  and he found me this morning.

  :) there are 8 and my oldest son has the only two g/sons that i have.. we were lost to each other before i left the wts, because when i lived in california and he lived in colorado springs, we both moved at the same time and we each had unlisted numbers.. i'm very, very pleased and excited.

  Lola,

  My mother had Lupus, and while it is true that lupus is very treatable to a small percentage of those diagnosed it can be very devistating. My mother lived with it for over 20 years. In her case it manifested itself in her joints causing pain and swelling. Medications helped but not completely. There is also a chance that the illness can internalize and start attacking internal organs. This is rare, but in such cases can be very serious. I don't tell you this to worry you, I'm hopefull that your sister will be fine (the odds are really in her favor), and I'm sure she will be. But I say it because I want you to be diligent in her care, as I know you will.

  with all the ridiculous hype amongst the dubs about how this new tract is going to help bring about "the end", i thought it would be beneficial to highlight how often they've been crying that the sky is falling in the last 1/2 century:.

  Mary, let me get this straight you are saying that the WTS has been saying for the last 50 years that the end is near? How can that be?

  Seriously, good work.

  Just one question, how long does it take you to research something like that?
